Each piece is inspected against the standard by which it was made before it is packed, and it is dispatched with its dust bag. Each Privé bag comes with a numbered certificate of authenticity recording the number entered in our register.

Pieces held in the atelier are dispatched within 1-2 working days of the order being placed. Where a shade is being completed to order, the making time is stated on the product page and the piece is dispatched as soon as it has passed inspection.

Once dispatched, typical transit times are 2-5 working days within the European Union, 2-5 to the United Kingdom and Switzerland, 3-6 to the United States and Canada, and four to seven for the rest of the world. Customs clearance can add to any of these and is outside our control.

An oversized clutch measuring 42 × 27 × 15 cm, carried by hand or under the arm, with an envelope flap over a pleated frame, two interior pockets divided by a suede partition, and an engraved monogram turn-lock. Aurea is a model rather than a collection, made in two leathers: hand-quilted lambskin nappa in seventeen shades, and embossed calf as Aurea Privé.

Considerably, and deliberately so. At forty-two centimetres it holds a telephone, a compact, glasses, a diary and a good deal more besides, which is the difference between an evening bag that has to be planned around and one that simply works across a long day or evening.

Aurea is hand-quilted lambskin nappa and takes between eighteen and thirty hours to make; Aurea Privé is embossed calf with a crocodile pattern, stamped to our order in Tuscany, without quilting, and takes between nine and fifteen hours. Privé is not a shade and not a sub-collection.

A structured skincare and jewellery case measuring 24 × 18 × 15 cm, built from Dollaro grained calf and lined entirely in leather, with a two-way zip, a padlock supplied with two keys, four brass feet set into the base and leather-reinforced corners. It is made in Italy for Venus Atelier in five shades.

Full-grain lambskin, chrome-tanned, dyed through and finished soft, with a smooth surface and no correction of the grain. It is softer than calf, falls better and takes colour more deeply, and it marks more readily, which is the trade we accepted when we chose it.
