Monaco Blue is a Mediterranean blue at the middle of the day, clear and saturated and carrying none of navy’s caution. What distinguishes it is that it holds its brilliance into the folds instead of darkening there, which is rare in leather and hard to obtain. Across the quilting the effect is nearer to enamel than to hide.
The bag is cut by hand from one skin and assembled around the house geometry, each panel aligned before stitching so the faceted line resolves at the base seam. Padding is worked from behind, so no seam interrupts the face of the bag and the colour runs its full length.
Our hardware is Italian, cast in solid brass, hand-finished and plated in 18-karat gold in Italy. Gold against a true blue is one of the few pairings that flatters both, and the monogram turn-lock is left to do that work alone. Inside, tonal blue suede lines the bag throughout, holding the brilliance from the outside through to the inside. Two interior pockets, divided by a suede partition. Handcrafted in our atelier, in a very small series.
