Crème Royale is an ivory with the cold taken out of it, warm enough to sit against the skin without drawing attention to it. It is the palest shade we produce and by some margin the most demanding, since pale lambskin conceals nothing at all. Only skins of the highest grade are released for it, and each cut is made once.
The house geometry runs from the lock to the base seam and is aligned by hand, panel by panel, before stitching begins. At this weight of colour the quilting reads in shadow rather than in tone, so the relief is padded from behind and the face of the leather left without visible seams. The form rises out of the skin rather than being pressed into it.
Made in Italy, the hardware is cast in solid brass, hand-finished and plated in 18-karat gold in Italian workshops. The monogram turn-lock provides the single warm note outside. Inside, navy suede lines the bag throughout, one of the seven interiors we choose against the exterior. The composure is on the outside and the colour is within, and the difference belongs to whoever opens it. Two interior pockets, divided by a suede partition.
