Espresso does the work of black without its severity. It is dense and deeply roasted, with a red undertone that surfaces only in daylight and disappears again by evening. That undertone is the whole distinction between this shade and a merely functional brown, and the reason we recommend it as often to a first purchase as to a second.
The bag is cut by hand from a single skin. Our geometry, that continuous faceted line, is aligned panel by panel so the intersections meet with the precision of joinery. The relief is padded from behind, so the quilting appears to rise from the leather rather than to have been pressed into it. No seam is visible anywhere on the face of the bag.
The hardware is made in Italy, cast in solid brass, hand-finished and gold-plated there to 18 karats. Against a shade of this depth we have set it deliberately bright. Inside, red suede lines the bag throughout, one of the seven interiors chosen against the exterior. The undertone that only daylight reveals on the outside is stated openly within. Two interior pockets, divided by a suede partition. Handcrafted in our atelier, in a very small series.
