Havane is named for tobacco leaf and carries amber beneath the brown. The tone shifts as the light moves across the quilting, honey where the facets rise and cognac where they fall away. Of all the shades in the collection this is the one that improves most with wear, and the one owners tend to reach for first.
Every piece is cut by hand from one skin of lambskin nappa and assembled around the house geometry, each panel aligned before it is stitched so the faceted line runs unbroken to the base seam. The padding is worked from behind. It is the slower method by a wide margin, and the reason the grain of the leather carries light across the whole face of the bag without a seam to break it.
Our hardware is made in Italy, cast in solid brass, finished by hand and plated in 18-karat gold in Italian workshops. Gold on cognac is the oldest agreement in leatherwork and we have not attempted to improve on it. Inside, orange suede lines the bag throughout, one of the seven interiors chosen against the exterior. The amber that only hints at itself on the outside is fully declared within.
