London Ash is a grey with weather in it, soft and faintly warm, nearer to slate seen through rain than to any studio neutral. In a shade this restrained the quilting becomes the whole of the argument. There is nothing else for the eye to hold, and the geometry reads as pure form.
The bag is cut by hand from one skin. The faceted line is aligned panel by panel and closes at the base seam, and the relief is padded from behind so no stitching shows on the face of the leather. In a colour that offers so little to hide behind, this is not a refinement but the entire condition of the piece.
Made in Italy, the hardware is cast in solid brass, hand-finished and plated there in 18-karat gold. It supplies the warmth the shade withholds. Inside, tonal grey suede lines the bag throughout: a restrained exterior and a restrained interior, held to the same discipline. Two interior pockets, divided by a suede partition. Handcrafted in our atelier, in a very small series.
