Malachite is the most declarative green in the collection, saturated and mineral, taken directly from the stone it is named for. Where Esmerald behaves as a jewel, this behaves as a pigment. The quilting breaks the intensity into planes, so the colour arrives in stages rather than all at once.
Each piece is cut by hand from a single skin. At this level of saturation an impreciseintersection would be visible from three metres away, so the alignment is done by eye and one artisan carries the piece from the first cut to the final stitch. The padding is worked from behind and the surface of the leather left unbroken.
The hardware is made in Italy, cast in solid brass, hand-finished and gold-plated to 18 karats in Italian workshops. The monogram turn-lock is set where the facets converge. Inside, tonal green suede lines the bag throughout. A colour this committed is not interrupted at the threshold. Two interior pockets, divided by a suede partition.
