Oyster is barely a pink at all. It is shell-toned, with grey lying underneath, taken from the inside of the shell rather than the outside. It is the softest shade in the range and among the least forgiving to produce, since at this weight of colour the quilting reads in shadow alone.
Skins of the highest grade are reserved for it. Each is cut by hand, and the house geometry is aligned panel by panel from the lock to the base seam, where any imprecision would show at once. The relief is padded from behind, a construction that takes far longer and gives the quilting the appearance of rising from the leather rather than being stamped into it.
The hardware is made in Italy, cast in solid brass, hand-finished and plated in 18-karat gold there, and it warms the shade without disturbing it. Inside, tonal pink suede lines the bagthroughout, a half tone deeper than the leather, so the shell keeps its own logic from outside to in. Two interior pockets, divided by a suede partition.
