Garnet is the red stone of antique jewellery, a red that appears to be seen through thick glass. It is not a bright red. It is red after it has settled. Across the relief it takes on a brick undertone that reveals itself only in direct light. The shade one travels with in autumn and winter, beside camel, grey and navy.
